"Labyrinth of Zangetsu is a solid, addicting, enjoyable game. Yes, there are some annoying shortcomings, but the story and art style are both intricately connected, with the story being surprisingly engaging for a first-person dungeon crawler, and the art style likewise remarkably deep and beautiful for the genre. Exploration is addicting, and character classes can be changed or upgraded as you progress through the game, giving you access to advanced classes. First-person dungeon crawlers can often be a bit of a slog, but Labyrinth of Zangetsu manages to avoid that particular pitfall by being a reasonable length. While the difficulty can, at times, be quite steep, it’s worth the occasional pain and suffering."

You play as a thief given a second chance after Zeus intervenes. Your task is to navigate the Labyrinth of Crete, solving increasingly complex puzzles to trap the Minotaur. Each challenge blends logic and lateral thinking, from mechanical devices to cryptic symbols. Progress demands careful observation and creative problem solving. The story unfolds through text and visuals as you piece together the path to escape. Released in 1995, this Philips title runs on PC, Mac, and CD-i. It’s known for tight puzzle design that avoids cheap tricks. Community playthroughs highlight the balance between difficulty and fairness. While its 90s visuals feel dated, the core experience holds up as a test of wit. A relic of early PC puzzle games with a mythological twist.
