Close to: Inori no Oka follows Homura Motoki after a car accident leaves him trapped in a ghostly state. His girlfriend Yuuna survives but loses all memory of their relationship. With time running out, Homura navigates the world unseen, trying to reignite her memories before his physical body dies. The game blends dating sim elements with a tragic core, using dialogue choices to shape interactions and outcomes. Players piece together fragments of their past through emotional encounters and environmental storytelling. The narrative focuses on grief and second chances, a theme KID games often explore with raw intensity. While lacking flashy visuals by modern standards, its strength lies in pacing and character moments. Community reviews note its bittersweet tone and the weight of decisions, though some find the limited branching paths restrictive. Released early in the PlayStation 2 era, it remains a quiet entry in KID’s catalog, overshadowed by later works but praised for its sincerity.
Homura Motoki was walking down the street one day with his girlfriend Yuuna when they were struck by a car. When he woke up in the hospital, he realized something incredible had happened. He was having an out of body experience and no one seems to be able to see or hear him. Floating around in the air, Motoki set off to find Yuuna, only to discover she has lost all her memories of him because of the accident. With only a few days left until his body can no longer be sustained, Motoki must now find a way to make Yuuna remember him so he can return back to his body.
