Cobra Command

Cobra Command is a side scrolling helicopter shooter where you and a friend team up to blast through enemy ranks. You fly a copter mowing down tanks jeeps and soldiers while picking up hostages in a split screen format. Controls are responsive letting you fire missiles or drop bombs. The action never slows with waves of enemies and tight rescue missions on both the arcade and NES versions. The two player co op was a hit especially on arcade cabinets where friends could play together. While not the most original 1988 release it remains a solid choice for quick action sessions. Over 30 years later the mix of shooting and rescue still feels satisfying. It holds up better than many early 90s shooters though the graphics are basic by today's standards.
