Codename Eagle is a first-person shooter with vehicle combat set in a twisted version of 1917. You play as Red a spy for Shadow Command tasked with sabotaging an alternate Russia that’s muscling into Europe. The single player campaign mixes stealth and action as you infiltrate strongholds and blow things up. Multiplayer offers straightforward modes like Deathmatch and Capture the Flag with up to 16 players. The game stands out for its alternate history setting where WWI never happened and Russia dominates the continent. While its graphics feel dated by modern standards fans of classic shooters might appreciate the blend of FPS and vehicular combat. Developed by Refraction Games which later merged with DICE the title is a footnote in the studio’s history before Battlefield 1942 but offers a brisk no-frills experience for nostalgic players.
