You control Billy Blaze, an 8-year-old kid who puts on his brother's helmet and turns into Commander Keen to stop alien invasions. The trilogy spans three episodes where you jump, shoot, and solve puzzles across Mars, Earth, and a final showdown. Each level mixes platforming with basic brain teasers like avoiding hazards or triggering switches. The same simple engine powers all three games, giving a consistent feel as you dart between running, jumping, and firing your trusty helmet's laser. The game holds up as one of the earliest hits from id Software, blending straightforward action with sci-fi charm. Its pixelated visuals and chiptune music feel dated but nostalgic. With 115 levels total and a runtime of around 15-20 hours, it’s a compact relic that still works well today. The trilogy structure lets you tackle each episode separately, though the story is mostly a thin excuse for the chaos. Fans of old-school platformers might find it worth a look.
