About

Community Pom is a 1997 action RPG that mixes top-down combat with creature care. You play as Lulu, a girl defending Poms, fluffy creatures wrongly blamed for attacks on Woolly Village. The game balances dungeon crawling and puzzle solving with a pet-raising mechanic where tending to Poms boosts their stats and unlocks progression. Combat leans hack-and-slash, requiring timing and positioning to take down enemies while managing your Pom’s abilities. Exploration reveals secrets tied to both the world and your companion’s growth. The game stands out for blending simulation elements into its action framework, a niche combo for its era. Though overlooked at release, its mix of creature collection and Zelda-style adventures has earned retro fans for its charm and replayability. Available on PlayStation and PSP, it remains a curious relic from Fill in Café Co. Ltd., the team behind Asuka 120%. The single-player story moves at a steady pace, focusing on Lulu’s quest without overcomplicating the formula. Its dated visuals can’t hide the solid mechanics that keep it ticking for completionists.
