It hit arcades in 1983 as a direct follow-up to Donkey Kong's success and spread to over a dozen home systems, from TI-99 to Commodore 64. The quirky premise and multi-platform availability made it a nostalgic favorite, though its name had a surprising origin, CFO Peter W. Gorrie, who also named it.
