Continuum places you in the cockpit of a mech pilot during a galactic post-apocalypse set in the year 7351. Your main task is to survive by gathering resources and hunting down lost technologies to repair your vehicle. You control a lone strike frigate after the collapse of the Galactic Republic and must fight powerful enemies while searching for the truth behind the disaster that destroyed Terra. The game focuses on resource management and ship upgrades rather than just shooting. The setting offers thousands of star systems to explore without forcing a linear path through every single one. Players will need to capture and restore systems to build up their forces for a final return to the lost homeworld. The story revolves around uncovering the chronology of past mistakes while building a strike force from scratch. You start with minimal assets and must rely on skill to gather strength in a hostile universe where humanity faces extinction.

Storyline

The homeworld, Terra, became the pearl of the Galactic Republic, representing an incredible combination of technological and aesthetic development of mankind. After millennia of prosperity, humanity is on the verge of extinction. Many systems are destroyed or in isolation while the fate of Humanity's cradle is yet to be discovered.It is said that the Terra itself became the epicenter of events that destroyed the era of peace in a matter of days. You - the heir of the once powerful colonization fleet, whose battle glory is now resembled by only 1 strike and reconnaissance frigate of the long forgotten times — the commander of which you are destined to become. Your journey in search of resources and revenge will take light years, all the while trying to unravel the chronology of events that led to the disaster and gathering the strike force to return the lost homeland. The galaxy contains thousands of star systems and countless amazing and unique planets. There is a lot of activity out there with many searching for a fortune or a destiny. You'd have to face the consequences of the mistakes of the past on some of those planets and rediscover forgotten technologies. You will also be waiting for the capture and restoration of systems, the development of the plot and the search for ancient technologies of the golden era.
