Cookie & Cream tasks players with guiding two characters through puzzle-filled levels using the DS's dual screens. The top screen handles movement and platforming for one character while the bottom screen lets you solve puzzles or avoid traps as the second. Play solo by juggling both roles or team up with a friend for co-op: one controls Cookie on the top display, the other manages Cream below. The setup splits tasks cleanly, requiring coordination to unlock paths and bypass hazards across themed worlds like deserts and underwater zones. The game’s split-screen design feels fresh even by modern standards, blending action and problem-solving without forcing either. Eight worlds and nine mini games offer decent variety, though the 2007 release date means it’s largely overlooked today. Wireless co-op and download play for two on one card were ahead of their time, but the lack of modern remasters keeps it niche. Still, fans of DS-era co-op puzzlers might find it a hidden gem.
