Cooking Mama: World Kitchen lets you build meals one step at a time. Chop, sizzle, or assemble ingredients in a set order to complete recipes from sushi to pasta. Each finished dish unlocks new recipes and characters including relatives and friends. Play solo or split screen with up to three others on the Wii. The game uses motion controls for basic cooking actions which most players find simple. Over 200 recipes and 40 unlockable characters add long term variety. While not the deepest sim, the focus on step by step preparation and multiplayer mode keeps it engaging for casual cooks. The 2008 release shows in some dated visuals but the core loop still works.
