About

Corum III: Chaotic Magic wraps up a trilogy with a story that feels less generic than its predecessors. You play as Kaien, a knight who knows nothing about three sages seeking balance via an ancient artifact called the Jumarion. Instead of dealing with high stakes immediately, you navigate superstitions and manage a cursed little girl before your journey truly begins. The combat system sees major upgrades by turning magic spells into special moves within combos. You control Kaien plus two other characters, switching between them to exploit their specific strengths rather than fighting alongside them all at once. The visuals use prerendered graphics that look sharp even if they feel a bit sterile at times. Audio quality stands out as the best in the series with a soundtrack spread across an entire CD dedicated just to music. While the network modes offer arena battles and dungeon rushes, these features feel more like extras than essential gameplay pillars. This title holds up well as one of the stronger action RPGs from Korea despite some localization hurdles in the West. It delivers solid mechanics without relying on buzzwords or hollow hype about being a unique experience.
