About

Potsy’s got a green thumb and a grudge. You take control of the Brooklyn rooftop gardener flinging potted plants at hordes of bugs invading a neighborhood. The screen scrolls as waves of insects crawl toward buildings, and your goal is to whack them before they eat the structures. Timing and aim matter, each missed bug chips away at your health. Play solo or take turns with a friend, swapping control to keep the bugs at bay. The game’s charm comes from its absurd premise and frantic pace. It’s a product of early 80s arcade simplicity, with pixelated bugs and flower-throwing mechanics that feel oddly satisfying. While not a technical showcase, Crackpots earned a cult following for its zany concept and competitive multiplayer mode. Released just two years after the Atari 2600’s launch, it’s a relic of a time when a rooftop gardener’s only defense was a barrage of petunias.
