About

Crazy Ball is a timed puzzle game where you steer a ball across a grid of colored tiles. Your goal is to reach each level's exit before the clock runs out. Use a joystick to move left or right and press fire to jump, but watch your limited jump count displayed on screen. Each tile color changes how the ball behaves: blue does nothing, light blue triggers a jump, red slows you down, yellow speeds you up, green ignores inputs, purple reverses controls, and black tiles drop you into time-wasting holes. Mistakes cost seconds, so planning routes matters as much as quick reflexes. Released in 1992 for the Amstrad CPC, the game was originally published as a type-in program in CPC-Infos magazine. Its simple visuals and tricky tile mechanics create a tense, methodical challenge distinct from typical arcade fare. The mix of speed and strategy, combined with the CPC's nostalgic charm, gives it a cult following among retro fans. Short levels keep things brisk, but mastering the color effects adds depth. A no-frills test of precision and timing from the early 90s.
