Crucible is a team-focused action shooter that mixes combat with strategic decision making. Players work in squads to take down alien threats, secure objectives, and outmaneuver rival teams in competitive matches. The game emphasizes cooperation and adaptability as environmental hazards and enemy encounters force constant adjustments. Available on PC since 2020, it features single player, multiplayer, and co-op modes that blend shooter mechanics with MOBA-style team dynamics. Development shifted to closed beta in July 2020 after initial player feedback, with community events and tournaments planned to refine the experience. But in October 2020 the studio announced it would halt Crucible's development to focus on New World and other projects. A final playtest and community event were held before matchmaking shut down, leaving only custom games available until servers close November 9. The game's brief lifespan saw mixed player reactions but highlighted Amazon's iterative approach to live service titles.
