About

Crux Diaries is a turn-based CRPG set in a dystopian 1970s alternate history where a fractured nation teeters on collapse. You play a returning exile searching for a missing sibling while navigating a web of political upheaval, criminal enterprise, and crumbling authoritarian rule. The game uses isometric visuals and a non-linear structure to let you shape outcomes through dialogue, skill checks, and survival mechanics. Multiple factions vie for control, and your decisions, whether to side with rebels, exploit chaos, or evade the system, reshape the world in real time. The setting leans heavily into real-world historical inspirations, blending late Soviet-era bureaucracy with Eastern Bloc tensions and 20th-century civil war chaos. Player choices carry weight, with branching consequences that ripple through the story and environment. While the game hasn’t launched yet, early access builds on Kravtology’s previous projects suggest a deep focus on systemic complexity and moral ambiguity. Its turn-based combat and dialogue-driven exploration cater to fans of strategy and narrative-driven games, with a strong emphasis on consequence over combat.

Storyline

After years away, you return to a fractured homeland you barely remember. You came to find your brother, but he’s missing, and no one wants to talk about it. As you search for him, you’re pulled deeper into the fractured state of the nation meeting people from all walks of life. Some are desperate and disillusioned, others are thriving by exploiting the chaos or trying to revert it, and many are just trying to survive. The game is set in a crumbling totalitarian state, inspired by Eastern Europe in the late 80s and early 90s. There's also a mix of Red Terror-era USSR, and 20th century civil wars. The regime is losing its grip, bureaucracy is rotting from within, criminal factions are on the rise, national borders are tense, rumours of rebellion and independence swirl across provinces. Would you support the authorities, join the resistance, align with rising criminal factions, or try to slip through the cracks entirely and escape the country?
