Cure for Death is a brief visual novel where 2D and 3D visuals merge to create an eerie atmosphere. You play as a young man who takes a job at a publishing house and moves into a cheap run down mansion. The catch is the place is packed with oddball residents and you’re stuck sharing the walls with them as strange occurrences escalate. Choices matter as you navigate tense conversations and uncover hidden dangers in your new home. What sets it apart is the way it uses shifting perspectives to build tension. The story unfolds through dialogue and environmental clues letting you piece together the mansion’s secrets. At just a few hours it’s a tight package that leans into slow burn horror. Early builds showed strong art direction and a script that balances dry humor with unsettling twists. Developer U4P has a history of experimental narrative design which shows here in the layered character interactions.
The story follows a young man who leaves his hometown to chase his dream job at a prestigious publishing house. Low on funds, he moves into a suspiciously affordable house — and quickly finds out the real reason behind the bargain price.
