Custodian is a 1989 arcade-style shooter with platforming elements where you defend energy bases from invasive parasites. You control a guardian who blasts and navigates through four distinct levels filled with enemies draining resources. The gameplay balances quick reflexes with strategic use of weapons and power-ups to clear each stage. Originally released on Amiga and Atari ST/STE, it later became one of the earliest titles on the Atari Jaguar. The game stands out as a rare example of early 90s platform-shooter fusion with a focus on repetitive but functional action. While not a critical darling at launch, its chiptune soundtrack and handful of unlockable weapons keep it brief but memorable for retro fans. The Jaguar version in particular is notable for being one of the system's first third-party releases.
