About

Cyber Virus: CinciClassic Edition is a first-person shooter built for the Atari Lynx, a handheld platform rarely suited for such games. You play as the last member of a guerilla unit battling biomechanical enemies threatening human survival. The game includes eight missions, two of which were cut from later versions of Cyber Virus. Controls and visuals are functional for a 2001 handheld release, with a focus on rapid combat and limited save points that heighten urgency. Only 25 copies of this version were produced, marked clearly on the cartridge label and intro screens. Developed by Carl Forhan and published by Songbird, it’s part of a small revival of obscure Lynx titles. Retro gaming communities note its rarity and historical value, with limited play sessions due to the Lynx’s dated interface. While not a polished modern experience, its scarcity and niche status make it a conversation piece for collectors.
