Piloting a rescue chopper in a storm, you hunt for supply crates scattered across islands. The cyclone messes with your controls and can smash your craft if you get too close. Balance fuel stops at island pads, dodge low-flying jets over water, and watch timers counting down. You can save refugees for extra points, but only need to return to base once you've got all crates. Maps and switching between north/south views help track hidden boxes and the storm’s path. The storm’s chaos and split-screen navigation create a tense puzzle. No difficulty shifts after each loop, just the same challenges, tighter under pressure. Developer Vortex Software’s previous work, like Tornado Low Level, used similar pixel art, but Cyclone’s tight resource management and storm mechanics make it a standout 80s arcade-strategy hybrid. Simple yet punishing, it’s a test of reflexes and planning where one misstep ends your mission.
