Dacman is a straightforward arcade game that mirrors the mechanics of a well-known maze-chase classic. You navigate a grid, collect dots, and dodge three colorful enemies. Chomping power pellets reverses the threat letting you chase and eat the ghosts for extra points. The ColecoVision version adds a simple but functional twist with responsive controls and tight level design. A secondary Pong-style game called DacPong! is tucked into the cartridge's code starting with version 1.3. It swaps the ball for a pixelated Pac-Man head keeping the same back-and-forth rhythm. Released in 2000 this title leans into retro charm without pretending to be impressive. The three-ghost limit and lack of later Pac-Man innovations like multiple screens keep it feeling familiar rather than fresh. But the hidden DacPong! mode shows a bit of playful creativity. With a single-player focus and no frills it’s a no-nonsense throwback that works best for those who miss the simplicity of early arcade gameplay. The ColecoVision port remains a niche curiosity among homebrew and vintage gaming circles.
