About Daemon x Machina: Titanic Scion

Daemon x Machina: Titanic Scion is a fast-paced mech shooter set in a sci-fi world where humans and Outers clash over control of the Blue Planet. Developed by Marvelous First Studio and released on September 5, 2025, it brings back the franchise’s signature blend of customization and chaos. Players pilot customizable Arsenal mechs, engaging in land and air combat against Immortals and the Sovereign Axiom. The story follows a resistance group trying to overthrow a tyrannical Outer regime, with co-op battles against titanic bosses. Available on PC, Xbox, PS5, and Nintendo Switch 2, it expands the series with new co-op modes and mechanical designs by Shoji Kawamori. A chaotic, explosive experience for fans of mechs and open-world brawls.

Gameplay

Gameplay revolves around quick, skill-based shooting in your Arsenal, with each battle demanding rapid weapon swaps and strategic positioning. You’ll collect enemy gear to upgrade your mech, tailoring playstyles to hit-and-run tactics or brute force. The open world shifts between land and sky, forcing you to adapt to vertical combat and environmental hazards. Missions include solo runs and 2-player co-op against giant bosses, where timing and coordination are key. Controls feel responsive, with a focus on fluid movement and combo-heavy attacks. Side quests let you scavenge for rare parts, but the repetitive structure of missions and bosses can wear thin. Best suited for sessions of 30, 60 minutes, with frequent respawns and respawning enemies.

What Players Think

PlayPile users rate Titanic Scion 8.2/10, with 78% of players completing the main story in an average of 14.5 hours. Positive moods include “Satisfying” and “Epic Set Pieces,” while criticism centers on “Painfully Repetitive” missions and “Unbalanced Co-op.” Critics praise the mech customization depth and visuals but note a lack of post-game content. Achievements include 122 total, with 72% completion rate, highlighting side quest grind. Over 60% of players play with others, though 30% report lag in multiplayer. Price comparisons show it’s 15% more expensive than similar titles, but 68% of buyers say it’s “worth it for the co-op.” Reviews split between “a chaotic joyride” and “a missed evolution.”

PlayPile's Take

Titanic Scion is a high-energy mech shooter for fans of the genre, offering deep customization but not enough to justify its $69.99 price. The co-op boss battles are a highlight, but side content feels tacked on. With 122 achievements and 78% completion, it rewards patience but lacks longevity. If you crave fast combat and don’t mind repetitive missions, it’s a solid $70 ask. Otherwise, wait for a sale. The story is forgettable, but the mechanical chaos is hard to resist for pure action fans.

Storyline

Hundreds of years after the battle for the red soil of Earth Prime, humans colonized the Blue Planet. The Outers – people born with special abilities caused by exposure to the unique energy resource Femto – grew resentful of their mistreatment by humanity on this new and dangerous planet. They seized control of the Gardens, orbital defense satellites, where they rule the planet below with military might as the Sovereign Axiom. As the humans on the planet’s surface struggle to survive against the elements and a race of organic-mechanical creatures known as Immortals, a resistance organization called the Reclaimers has appeared to challenge the Axiom’s brutal rule. When an Outer soldier crash-lands in the desert outside humanity’s largest settlement, they may become the key to turning the tide in humanity’s latest revolution.
