Dancing Blade Katteni Momotenshi! is a visual novel built around full-motion video scenes. Players guide the story by choosing dialogue options during key moments, steering the narrative toward one of four endings. The experience focuses on watching character interactions and plot developments unfold, with minimal gameplay beyond decision-making. Once an ending is reached, you can replay the path to that conclusion without interruptions, or skip back to revisit specific scenes. The game follows Momohime, a girl discovered as a child inside a giant peach, and her friends as they investigate a capital city under siege. The blend of fantasy and mystery explores connections between Momohime, a mysterious girl named Nayotake, and the creatures attacking the city. While the PlayStation original’s FMV style feels dated, the branching story and multiple viewable scenes add replay value. Community reviews note its cult status among visual novel enthusiasts, though its 1998 release means technical limitations are evident. Available on PlayStation, PSP, and Dreamcast.
