Dariusburst: Another Chronicle

Dariusburst Another Chronicle is a vertical scrolling shooter that cranks up the intensity with rapid fire mechanics and layered power-ups. You control a fighter jet pelting through waves of enemies while managing energy meters and special attacks. The Burst System lets you unleash concentrated firestorms at key moments, turning the tide in chaotic boss battles and dense enemy formations. Precision matters as much as reflexes with tight controls and a focus on scoring combos. Released in 2010 for arcades this title built on its predecessor with expanded stages and refined systems. A 2011 update called Another Chronicle EX added new ships and stages while later bundling it into Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours. Though buried in arcades it developed a cult following among shooter fans for its tight loops and escalating difficulty. The single player campaign leans into classic shoot em up tropes with minimal story focus but maximum action.

Storyline

Dariusburst takes place a century after Darius II where the planet Darius is continually attacked by the Belser Army. The continuing battles show a possible end to the long wars on Darius, particularly with the development of the Burst System, a powerful new weapon equipped with the latest Silver Hawk fighters. Using this new weapon system are pilots Riga Pratica, test pilot of the Silver Hawk Burst series; and Ti2, a computer AI assuming the body of a young girl. Together, the pilots fight back against the Belser Army's fleets, factories, and even its previously inhabited fortresses.
