Dark Eden is a canceled Game Boy Advance title from Rival Dreams that finally saw a prototype release in late 2022. The three-person studio behind it drew heavy inspiration from Symphony of the Night and Metroid. You explore a castle setting to find four specific power-ups including a fire sword, wall jump, super jump, and run ability. The actual playable footage shows about six to eight minutes of this exploration style platforming before it cuts off. What stands out here is simply seeing a lost project from a short-lived developer who worked at Acclaim come to light. Most of the game remains unseen since the original cancellation years ago. The limited prototype gives us a glimpse into how they planned to handle combat and movement within that tight timeframe.
