Dark Trip is a VR puzzle game that drops you into a warped lab filled with disturbing secrets. As an investigator, you search for clues in a decaying facility tied to twisted experiments, solving surreal riddles while navigating shifting environments. The gameplay leans into drug-fueled hallucinations, with reality warping around you as you piece together a dark narrative about occult rituals and hidden histories. Exploration drives the experience, with each room hiding fragments of a disturbing story. What sets it apart is its unrelenting atmosphere of dread. The mix of body horror aesthetics and trippy visual effects creates a setting that feels both oppressive and disorienting. Community playtests note the game’s willingness to push boundaries, with 82% of testers on Meta Quest 3 calling the environmental storytelling “creepy but compelling.” Launching January 2025 on Quest 2 and 3, it’s a short but intense ride for players ready to confront its bleak themes.
In a small German town, the only daughter of a retired businessman disappears. A player hired to investigate the case finds a seemingly abandoned laboratory. Exploring room after room, the player discovers evidence of experiments carried out in the place, notebooks of employees and test subjects. It becomes clear that the infamous Nazi doctor Mengele conducted the inhuman experiments here using psychedelic substances and sadomasochistic practices. Moving deeper, the hero understands that despite the apparent abandonment, the laboratory is still active and the experiment continues: Olga (the kidnapped girl) and the player themself are in fact the active subjects of the evil occult ritual that is merging the infernal plane with our world, causing bizarre sets where one can not distinguish hallucinations from reality…
