Yukimura Aine is a quiet high school student thrust into the chaos of a rock band when she meets the magnetic vocalist of Lucifer. As the group's lyricist, your choices shape interactions with band members and classmates, each with distinct personalities and reactions to your decisions. The story unfolds through dialogue and branching scenarios, punctuated by a rhythm-based mini-game that ties into the band's performances. Simple controls and turn-based gameplay let you focus on dialogue and relationship-building, with outcomes influenced by your responses and actions. Based on Mayu Shinjo's manga and anime series Kaikan Phrase, the game leans into its source material's mix of school life and romantic tension. While not a commercial blockbuster, it caters to fans of narrative-driven dating sims with light music elements. The DS touch screen handles menu navigation smoothly, and the multiple endings encourage replayability. The characters' dynamic interactions and music-centric setting set it apart from typical visual novels, though its niche appeal aligns more with existing fans of the franchise than newcomers.
You play as Yukimura Aine, a shy high school girl who becomes the lyricist for the rock band Lucifer after meeting the vocalist of the band, Ookouchi Sakuya. You get to interact with the various male characters (members of Lucifer as well as other characters) and build potential relationships with them. The male characters will react in various ways depending on your actions and answers. There is also a musical mini-game. Based on “Kaikan Phrase”, a popular manga and anime written by Mayu Shinjo.
