About

De-Ja II is a sequel adventure game that leans into its 1992 roots with a mix of text-heavy menus and point-and-click moments. You play Ryuusuke, an archaeologist teaming up with Himiko to figure out a Palau shrine’s cosmic secrets. Most actions require digging through layered verb menus to interact with objects or people. But certain scenes swap menus for clickable icons including talking, touching, and even a condom symbol for anatomy-themed experiments. The story threads from the first game continue, though newcomers might find the setup confusing without prior context. The game stands out for its oddball interface tweaks and willingness to blend academic intrigue with bizarre humor. While its clunky menus and niche sci-fi archaeology plot won’t appeal to everyone, fans of old-school adventure games might appreciate the deliberate pacing and the way it nudges players to experiment with unconventional commands. Its FM Towns and PC-98 roots give it a distinct retro charm, though modern players will likely stick to Windows ports for easier access.
