About Dead Feed

Dead Feed is a first-person horror simulator where two players take turns investigating a haunted house. One character explores the environment while the other reviews surveillance feeds, reacting to paranormal activity in real time. Developed by SolitaryStudios and released on November 28, 2025, it’s exclusive to PC. The game leans into psychological tension rather than jump scares, with an emphasis on environmental storytelling and split-second decision making. The premise is simple: survive the night, but the rules shift as entities manipulate the space around you. It’s a short but intense experience that rewards careful observation over combat.

Gameplay

You alternate between a physical explorer and a remote monitor, each role lasting around 10 minutes. The explorer uses a flashlight and camera to navigate, while the monitor analyzes live feeds for threats. When the explorer is alone, entities can interact with objects, leaving trails or triggering static-filled audio logs. If the monitor sees something, they must warn the explorer before it’s too late. Controls are split: the explorer uses WASD and mouse, the monitor uses keyboard-only quick commands. The house evolves with each visit, doors close, paths change, and entities grow more aggressive. Achievements like “Silent Witness” (stay undetected) or “Last Light” (survive until dawn) add replayability.

What Players Think

PlayPile community ratings sit at 8.1/10, with 68% recommending it. The average playthrough lasts 6.2 hours, and 74% of players complete the game. 43% report it as “scary,” while 28% describe the vibe as “tense.” Reviewers praise the “creeping dread” but criticize uneven pacing in later acts. One user wrote, “The split-screen mechanic makes every creak feel like a threat.” Achievement completion is 92% for the core set, but only 17% unlock all secrets. At $29.99, it’s a mid-tier price for a short experience. 32% of players say the difficulty spikes in Act 3, where entities become unpredictable.

PlayPile's Take

Dead Feed is best for fans of slow-burn horror and local co-op experiments. It thrives on its dual-perspective design but falters in its final act. The $30 price tag feels fair for what it is, a compact, atmospheric scare-fest with 100 achievements. If you enjoy methodical exploration and can stomach its occasional clunkiness, it’s worth a playthrough. For solo players, the split-screen setup limits options. But for those who relish tense, minimalistic horror, it carves out a niche. Just don’t expect a long-term commitment.
