Dead Matter is a survival shooter with rogue-lite elements that drops you into a zombie-ridden Alberta wasteland. You can build fortified homesteads, grow crops, or scavenge for resources in vehicles and abandoned buildings. The game lets you play defensively with a crafting system for weapons and barricades or aggressively by looting and trading with others. Multiplayer modes let you team up for base defense or hit the roads together. The game stands out for its flexible approach to survival. Unlike titles that lock you into one playstyle, Dead Matter lets you prioritize settlement building, exploration, or combat as you see fit. With support for PC Linux and Mac it’s a cross-platform option for groups wanting co-op chaos.
