Demons to Diamonds

Demons to Diamonds is a fast-paced Atari 2600 shooter where you control a laser base at the bottom of a layered playfield. Using a paddle controller, you move left or right and fire upward, timing your shot to stop the beam at a precise height. Each demon you hit earns points based on distance from your base while collecting diamonds they drop nets ten times the multiplier. Skulls patrol overhead, firing lasers that can destroy your base and end your turn. The challenge grows as enemies multiply and shots become harder to dodge. Multiplayer mode adds a layer of rivalry by placing a second laser at the top of the screen. Both players aim to eliminate demons matching their gun’s color to generate diamonds while trying to shoot each other’s base to drain lives. The game’s scoring mechanics reward calculated risks, higher shots mean bigger points but slower reflexes required. Despite its 1982 release, the mix of arcade action and strategic depth kept it in regular rotation among competitive players.
