Detective Conan: Chika Yuuenchi Satsujin Jiken drops you into a kid-sized mystery at an amusement park. You play as Conan, hopping between attractions like a roller coaster, horror house, and maze to solve three murder cases. The top-down view lets you wander freely, chatting with characters and collecting clues. Progress hinges on talking to the right people, solving puzzles, and using a "think" button to analyze suspicious details. Each case ends with a multiple-choice deduction, get it wrong and the killer walks free. Replayability comes from choosing different attractions at the start, though switching cases mid-game means starting over. The game mixes straightforward adventure mechanics with playful touches. Mini-games like a claw crane and skateboarding challenge appear at a Game Center, offering brief diversions. A password system lets you save at key points, a handy feature for a 1996 Game Boy title. While the dialogue options rarely affect outcomes, the core loop of investigation and deduction feels solid. As the first official Detective Conan game, it sets the template for future entries without leaning too hard on its own legacy.
