"Card Detective combines two different concepts in an innovative way. Hazel Gong is the very model of an intrepid reporter, although the story she’s chasing is a bit mundane. And it’s fun to guide her as she chases the truth, either by asking direct questions or by carefully analyzing a subject. The card mechanics work well and there’s enough variety and space to craft decks and strategies. Some extra hints about how to best balance direct approaches and analysis would have been great to keep newcomers to the genre engaged. The title’s biggest weakness is the relatively mundane story and some difficulty spikes. Card Detective shows how the card-battler genre can evolve when combined with new approaches and offers complex card puzzles to solve."

Detective S blends visual storytelling with puzzle-solving as you play through a murder mystery driven by finding differences in crime scenes. You take on the role of S, a detective obsessed with uncovering the truth behind their father’s killing. Each case involves scanning illustrated environments for subtle visual clues, linking evidence to narrow down suspects. The narrative unfolds through dialogue and discoveries, pushing you to connect a decade-old cold case to ongoing murders tied by a cryptic wooden button. The game stands out for its webtoon-inspired art style and tight integration of puzzles with plot progression. Players appreciate how each difference found directly impacts the investigation, avoiding generic whodunit tropes. With a runtime of around six hours, it’s a compact but layered mystery that community reviews say “hooks like a good podcast” (8/10 on Steam). The mobile-friendly design and episodic pacing make it easy to return to, though some note the ending leaves threads unresolved.
S became a detective to avenge his father "R". He was a police killed by a serial killer 10 years ago. In the end, neither could the police uncover the case. "S" feels the incompetence of the police. S became a famous detective later, and while she was investigating on a case, she discovers a “wooden button” with a snake carved on it that looked like what was found in R's belongings. S hears unexpected news while investigating on a case centered on the “wooden button,” a clue that she discovered in five years. For five years, 'tree buttons' still remain in many places in unsolved murders... Mr. S goes out with the police to find the escaped criminal.
