This project was a secret prototype for a Diddy Kong Racing sequel that never saw the light of day. Developed by Climax Group around 2004, the game features a pitch where Wizpig teams up with the Kremlings to kidnap the Kongs and turn Kongo Island into a massive raceway. Diddy returns from a trip to find his home under attack and rallies the original cast to stop the destruction through high-speed racing. The only playable version is a demo built on Xbox tools that surfaced years later after an archivist dug up the files. What makes this entry special is its status as a lost piece of gaming history rather than a released title. There are no community ratings or player counts because the project was cancelled before public release. Seeing the gameplay footage from 2016 offers a rare look at what could have been for the franchise on GameCube hardware. The story follows familiar characters but adds new stakes with Wizpig trying to conquer the island. It remains an intriguing footnote for fans who want to know about the games that almost happened.
After his defeat in Diddy Kong Racing, Wizpig allies himself with the Kremlings to get his revenge. While Diddy Kong is away on a visit to Timber Island, the Kremlings have been kidnapping members of the Kong clan, while Wizpig is in the process of converting Kongo Island into a gigantic raceway. Upon returning and seeing the Kremlings bulldoze the forest, Diddy Kong gathers the racers of the original Diddy Kong Racing to challenge Wizpig and stop his destruction of Kongo Island.
