About

Die Bahnwelt is a top-down shooter with RPG elements from 1992 developer Glodia. You control Connor Macguire navigating maze-like levels filled with enemies that respawn often. The game lets you fire in eight directions while managing a second AI-controlled character. Both can carry four weapons each, switching on the fly using energy ammo collected from chests or defeated foes. Battles involve coordinating tactics with your assistant through pre-set commands. Health regenerates automatically with no healing items required. Saves can be made at any moment. The game blends sci-fi and mystical themes in a world shaped by ancient powers. Set on a drifting planet between dimensions, it offers a hybrid of exploration and combat with procedurally challenging enemy encounters. Though obscure, its dual-character strategy and weapon variety stand out for fans of retro shooters. No community ratings are available but its Sharp X68000 exclusivity adds to its niche appeal.

Storyline

Long ago, an ancient civilization prospered, due to a hybrid of advanced technology and mystical powers. Legend has it that the Ancients were so powerful, they could shape the surface of the planet and control the currents of the oceans. The Ancients who wielded this power created a world that existed between dimensions and yet was still close to where humans lived. The name of this world was... Verle a Zohll. Long after the Ancients lost control of the power and were annihilated, the planet continues to drift between dimensions...
