Die Bücher Luzifers is a PC adventure game from 2002 that drops you into the shoes of John, a private detective hired to dig into a corporate mystery. His client suspects her husband’s former employer is up to no good, and things go sideways fast. The office building John enters is deserted but teeming with creatures, and a shadowy figure quickly shifts his mission from investigation to retrieval: he must find a tome attributed to Lucifer. Exploration and point-and-click puzzles drive the story, with tension rising as the environment grows more deranged. Kelven’s follow-up to their first RPG Maker project carves its own path through horror tropes. While echoes of Silent Hill and Resident Evil linger, the script leans into its own cryptic narrative and unsettling tone. Players navigate a labyrinth of corporate decay and supernatural horror, balancing survival instincts with deduction. Released over two decades ago, it still stands out for its moody atmosphere and willingness to let the unknown linger.
Private detective John is visited by a woman, entering her office with another job. She is concerned about the company her husband has been working with in the past and thinks that they maybe involved in some illegal operations. Quite the ordinary job. John proceeds to go to the office building of the company but as soon as he enters he notices that not a single person is there. However he is not alone and is soon confronted by various monsters roaming the hallways. While this is already a strange occurance, he is later tasked by another mysterious man to bring him a even more mysterious book... A book written by Lucifer himself.
