About

Digimon World Digital Card Battle is a turn-based strategy game where battles are resolved through card play instead of direct button mashing. Players build and customize decks to summon Digimon, using cards that dictate moves, stats, and special abilities. The game blends RPG elements with tactical card dueling as you navigate a digital realm plagued by a corrupt "bug card." Your character collects seven key cards to challenge rival duelists and restore balance to File Island. The game stands out for its deep deck-building mechanics and strategic layering of card effects. Each Digimon’s performance depends on card combinations and timing, requiring careful planning. While not as widely remembered as other Digimon titles, it developed a niche following for its unique approach to the franchise. Its 1999 release on PlayStation remains the only version, making it a collector’s item for series fans interested in experimental gameplay.

Storyline

The stage is a digital world where the intensity is determined by cards. It is governed by seven card readers who are at the top of the card battle. But File Island is threatened by a sudden bug card. The card readers kept each other in check and wouldn't cooperate. The hero summoned by Babamon is said to be a legendary hero. Babamon entrusted him with the deck and he collected Sevens cards.
