About

Digimon World: Next Order is a third-person RPG where you control a human character paired with two Digimon partners. You pick from ten starting creatures that evolve through combat and interactions. Battles trigger in real-time when touching enemies, dropping you into a circular arena where your Digimon act via AI or manual commands. Switch between partners mid-fight to issue orders or activate a merged evolution mode. Progression hinges on raising bonds through praise, scolding, or gifts while exploring open areas and completing quests with classmates. The game features 232 total Digimon in the Western release, including 15 exclusive to the international version. Its bond-building mechanics and 2016 Vita launch cater to series veterans but don’t overshadow dated combat pacing. The story follows two high school leads navigating the Digital World with familiar faces like Agumon and Gabumon. While community reception remains mixed, the sheer creature count and partner customization keep it niche for Digimon collectors.

Storyline

The game's story centers around two potential main characters: Japanese third-year high school students Takuto and Shiki. Takuto was once a passionate Digimon fan in his youth, even becoming runner-up in a national tournament, but has since become more concerned with adolescent life and wondering about his future. He and Shiki are transported to the Digital World, where they meet their Digimon partners, including Agumon, Gabumon, Biyomon and Palmon. They are joined on their journey by classmates Kouta Hirose, whose partner is Guilmon he nicknamed "Yukimura", and Himari Oofuchi, who is partnered with a Salamon she nicknamed "Rikka".
