Digital Monster X is a handheld RPG centered around raising and battling customizable Digimon. You train creatures with X-Antibody traits that alter their abilities and appearances, using the XAI System to adjust their behavior in real time. Battles are turn-based and require planning your moves around each Digimon's evolving strengths. The portable LCD format keeps everything compact for on the go play. The game leans heavily into hybrid Digimon designs, letting you mix and match attributes to create unique builds. The XAI System returns from earlier Pendulum entries, giving players control over aggression levels and strategy priorities during fights. While there's no online component or major new mechanics beyond existing systems, longtime fans of the series will appreciate the focused execution of familiar concepts. The 2019 release remains one of the last major entries in Bandai's long-running handheld line.
