Dingo is a 1983 arcade puzzle game where you play Big Ted, a koala racing to salvage fruit from marauding dingoes. Your goal is to collect all the melons in each level before they get stomped, dodging enemies that chase you and drain lives on contact. You can throw fruit to temporarily stun dingoes, but every tossed melon disappears, and enemies might hurl it back. Each level ramps up the frenzy as you balance speed, precision, and risk. What makes Dingo memorable is its tense, reactive gameplay. The dingo AI adapts to your movements, forcing you to constantly adjust tactics. Early 80s arcade crowds likely found it frustrating but addictive, with its simple graphics masking solid mechanical depth. Though primitive by modern standards, its core loop of frantic collection and evasion remains a brisk challenge. The lack of modern conveniences like save points or power-ups adds to its old-school charm.
