Dishaster is a 1983 Atari 2600 arcade title where you control a girl tasked with keeping spinning plates balanced on poles. Using button presses, you stabilize the wobbling dishes before they fall. The challenge scales with difficulty settings, starting with six poles and reaching ten in harder modes. Each dropped plate gives you one chance to catch it before losing points or a life. The game ends if four dishes hit the ground. A version released as Dancing Plates added oriental-themed visuals and eight new variations. Despite this, Dishaster suffered from repetitive gameplay that critics found tedious. Players who prefer rhythm-based mechanics might find the looping patterns frustrating, though the simple control scheme makes it accessible. The title remains a niche pick among retro arcade fans, with its straightforward approach overshadowed by its lack of variety.
