Distrust is an isometric survival game set in a remote Arctic research station during a never-ending polar night. You play as one of two survivors after a helicopter crash leaves them stranded near the abandoned base. The goal is to navigate frozen sectors, scavenge supplies, and avoid freezing to death while uncovering the base’s secrets. But there’s a catch: a mysterious force invades your sleep, slowly draining life from your body. Too little rest causes hallucinations and exhaustion. Too much sleep risks permanent consequences. The tension comes from balancing these survival mechanics while piecing together the story through scattered logs and environmental clues. The game shines in co-op mode where coordination becomes critical, managing resources and sleep cycles between two players adds layers of complexity. With procedurally generated maps and multiple endings, it offers replayability without feeling repetitive. Players often highlight its atmospheric tension and the cruel but fair difficulty curve. Available on Switch and PC, it’s a lean but gripping experience that lingers long after the credits roll.

Storyline

They were on a routine rescue mission when a helicopter crash left the two survivors stranded near an abandoned Arctic base. To find a way back, they must explore the base, moving from sector to sector, fighting the severe cold and searching for food and equipment. There's something else, too. Something that should not exist but does. The thing, that enters their sleep and suck the life out of their bodies... Staying awake seems like a safe option, but the lack of sleep is exhausting and leads to hallucinations. Eventually, the survivors will close their eyes and fall prey to the unknown, terrifying force - unless you can somehow strike a balance between exhaustion and falling into a sleep from which one might never awake.
