Dogfight! is a two-player shooter from Magnavox that lets one person steer a dot along a preset flight path on a clear overlay while the other tries to blast it out of the sky with a light gun. It’s part of the Shooting Gallery add-on for the Odyssey, using card number 9 to track movement. The simplicity is key, you either nail the timing or you don’t. It plays like a physical game of tag with a toy laser, all constrained to a screen. This 1972 title shows early light gun tech in action, long before arcade guns or home consoles made them common. It’s competitive but short, leaning into quick reflexes over strategy. The Odyssey’s limitations mean the action is basic, but that also keeps it accessible.
