Dome-King Cabbage follows Mush, a nervous cloud person heading to a job interview. The story plays out as an interactive visual novel where Mush perceives reality through the mechanics of a monster-collecting RPG. You make choices that shape the narrative while navigating this strange world. It serves as the first chapter in an episodic series created by Joe Buchholz. The project started as an entry for TyranoBuilder's Spring Game Jam and went on to win the gold prize out of fifty entries. This indie title stands out because it treats personal anxiety with a game system usually reserved for battling creatures. The developer handled almost everything alone, including the code and writing. Players can find this experience on PC, Mac, or Nintendo Switch as a single-player adventure. The unique premise earned it first place in its original competition. It is a short story that feels complete despite being part of a larger plan. Many players appreciate how the RPG elements mirror Mush's internal struggles without feeling forced.
