Donkey Kong Country 3 is a handheld adaptation of the classic SNES platformer that adds fresh twists to the formula. Play as Dixie Kong or her younger cousin Kiddy Kong as you navigate 40 levels split into six themed worlds. The game mixes precise 2D platforming with co-op play allowing two players to switch between characters mid level. You’ll zip through ice caverns, jungle ruins and arctic peaks while collecting bananas and avoiding hazards. A reworked overworld lets you freely explore between levels and unlock bonus content. The port distinguishes itself with a completely new soundtrack from series composer David Wise. It adds 15 original minigames and tweaks enemy placements for handheld play. While the single player remains solid, the co-op mode is a standout feature that encourages teamwork. With its tight controls and 40+ levels of challenge, it holds a 4.2/5 average on gaming forums. The Game Boy Advance version’s adjustments make it more than just a port, it feels tailored for on the go play.
Months after the Kongs' second triumph over the Kremling Krew, they continue to celebrate. One day, DK and Diddy suddenly disappear, and a letter from Diddy says they were out exploring the island again. However, several days pass without their return, and Dixie knows something is up. She takes matters into her own hands, and made her way to the southern shores of Donkey Kong Island, to the Northern Kremisphere, a Canadian and northern European-inspired landmass. There she meets Wrinkly Kong, and Wrinkly confirmed that the Kongs had passed by. Dixie then makes her way to Funky's Rentals. Funky suggests her to take her baby cousin Kiddy Kong along with her in the search. Funky lends them a boat and the two venture off to find Donkey and Diddy Kong.
