Doodle Jump for Kinect turns your body into the controller for a high-speed platformer. Instead of buttons you bob and weave to keep a bouncy character from falling between floating platforms. Each level throws in shifting tiles and bouncing obstacles forcing you to stay on your toes literally. Powerups add temporary boosts but the core loop stays simple frantic movement. The motion based controls make for a surprisingly engaging physical challenge. While some may struggle with the learning curve of keeping balance the active gameplay suits short bursts of fun. Released in 2013 it holds up as a solid example of how Kinect can turn couch time into light exercise. Best played when you have a few minutes and a clear space to jump around.
