About

Doofus tasks you with navigating side-scrolling levels while keeping yourself and your dog safe. The screen moves right to left, a quirky twist that adds to the charm. Your clumsy character trudges forward as their pet follows, dodging hazards like spikes and enemies. Jump over obstacles or blast them if weapons are handy. Levels branch into layered paths, letting you choose routes. Collect power-ups and ammo scattered throughout to survive longer. The dog’s presence adds a loose sense of partnership but offers little help if things go wrong. This 1993 DOS/Amiga title stands out for its oddball direction and low-stakes charm. The scrolling mechanic feels oddly disorienting, and the dog’s constant trailing creates a faint bond without much payoff. While not widely remembered, its simple design and occasional clever level layouts have earned it a niche following among retro fans. Short levels keep things brisk, though the lack of checkpoints can test patience. A forgotten platformer with a few clever ideas buried under its goofy premise.
