The 2024 remaster rebuilds the 1993 classic using the KEX engine adding modern visuals and performance improvements while retaining the original gameplay feel. The remaster emphasizes community contributions with full mod support and BOOM source compatibility letting players tweak or expand the game. It includes Episode IV: Thy Flesh Consumed a fan made addition that extends the story. You can choose between original MIDI tracks or a modern remix by Andrew Hulshult. With multithreaded rendering and eight new language options the update makes the iconic shooter more accessible while keeping its aggressive core intact.
