Doom GTS takes the classic engine and pushes it as far as possible. You start with seventeen different ways to attack, plus a flashlight that works on certain weapons. Two vehicles serve double duty as transport and weapons while thruster boots let you reach high places. The game features all new maps and monsters alongside epic boss battles. You can even unlock Doom Guy or Duke Nukem bots to help you out during your single player run. This mod stands out because it upgrades the graphics to include 3D models and higher definition textures while keeping that old school feel. The music crosses platforms to give a fresh sound without losing the original vibe. Community members who have played it often praise the vehicle mechanics and the better bosses.
