Doom II for Xbox is a fast-paced first-person shooter that brings the classic action to console. Players battle through demons and environments with an arsenal of guns and weapons. The single player campaign adds the exclusive "Betray" level while the multiplayer mode supports online-style play though it doesn't use Xbox Live. Vicarious Visions handled the port which keeps the core gameplay intact for console. The port includes additional content like Master Levels for extended play. It was bundled in the Doom 3 Collector’s Edition and later reappears in Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil. The absence of Live integration feels dated but the focus on intense combat and extra levels makes it a worthwhile package for fans. The 2005 release remains a solid console adaptation with minimal polish but plenty of action.
