Dragon Ball Z: Shin Saiya-jin Zetsumetsu Keikaku - Chikyuu-hen is a side entry in the Dragon Ball Z series that follows a storyline separate from the main anime arc. Developed by Bandai in 1994 it delivers beat 'em up action with characters from the Saiyan saga. Players take control of familiar fighters facing waves of enemies in a plot focused on survival and strategy. The game features stage-based combat with power scaling mechanics that adjust as you progress. This title remains a niche curiosity due to its Japan-only Playdia release which was Bandai’s proprietary handheld system. As the first of a two-part series it sets up a story continued in the sequel but stands alone as a product of early 90s gaming experimentation. Its cult status is bolstered by the rarity of the platform and the challenge of tracking down physical copies today.
